I suppose that this is as good a place to start as any, right? I am going to be taking part in NaNoWriMo again this year. Last year was my first year, and I managed to eke by with a few hundred words more than I needed to "win". I took that novel and after extensive editing and re-writing, I had it published and put for sale on Amazon.com as a paperback and an e-book. *Shameless plug here* the name of my book is Heart-Shaped Bruises if any of you are interested.
So, I am hard at work again, I just finished a phase-outline, and I have one character study done with 2 or 3 that I need to complete within the next week. I have been getting answers to things that I am not sure of (having to do with my characters and the story), I've been doing tons of research, (and still have tons left to do).
I do get excited when this time of year rolls around. I guess that I work well with the pressure of a 30 day deadline. This is also the only time that I am able to write and not have to fight with my inner-editor. Otherwise, I never really get past the first page, as I am constantly re-writing in my head - so that I make it absolutely nowhere with the story.
So, I've decided that this year I am also going to keep a blog about this experience. I just like the "community" feel of the whole entire project.
Let's give a cheer to all of those WriMo's who are going to put their hats into the ring again this year!!! (Even my 14 year old son is going to give the YA program a try).
That's all for now. I sure do hope that this blog turns out to be something that I enjoy doing - I'm not so sure at the moment.
That is all.....

About Me
- Aime
- I am 41 years old and have been married to my high-school sweetheart for 18 (almost 19) years. We have two boys - my oldest, Aaron, just turned 18 and he is in college this year - my youngest, Cameron, will be 15 in January and he just started high-school. My hobbies mostly include writing and reading, but I also enjoy camping at our lot, taking walks with my dogs, trying new kinds of tea, and shopping on the internet.
