I am an aspiring writer.
I have wanted to write ever since I was a little girl.
As a teenager I started writing poetry and short stories.
Then my writing just became a 'hobby'.
I had the aspirations of writing that 'great american novel' - but I didn't do anything in pursuit of this dream.
In November of 2010 I decided to 'bite the bullet' and I signed up for the National Novel Writing Month NaNoWriMo.
In the intense 30 days that followed that sign-on (I finally decided to actually sign up on November 8th), I rediscovered my passion for writing.
I finished the 50k. I edited my manuscript. I sent in the for free *proof* copy of my novel "Heart-Shaped Bruises".
I ♥'d it! From the moment I first held it in my hand.
There is no greater feeling than holding a book with your name on the cover. No. Greater. Feeling.
I've been hooked every since that moment.
Writing is no longer my 'hobby' - it is what I want to be when I grow up *smiles*

- I am 41 years old and have been married to my high-school sweetheart for 18 (almost 19) years. We have two boys - my oldest, Aaron, just turned 18 and he is in college this year - my youngest, Cameron, will be 15 in January and he just started high-school. My hobbies mostly include writing and reading, but I also enjoy camping at our lot, taking walks with my dogs, trying new kinds of tea, and shopping on the internet.
