While I was sitting in the waiting room at the garage that was fixing my husband's truck, I took out Sam and I was typing away on him - trying to get in my daily word count for NaNo.
You would be surprised how many people had never seen an Alphasmart before. At least all of the people that had filtered into the office to wait while their cars were being worked on.
I got a lot of "what is that thing?" "can I ask you what it is you're doing?"
I finally got tired of explaining what a word processor was - I was getting irritated with being interrupted - I was following conversations around me instead of concentrating on what I was writing.
I think that the next time I will just bring a notebook - less questions and explanations.
This is a blog all about my adventures in writing. Triumphs and failures. Banging my head on the key-board and Aha! moments.

About Me
- Aime
- I am 41 years old and have been married to my high-school sweetheart for 18 (almost 19) years. We have two boys - my oldest, Aaron, just turned 18 and he is in college this year - my youngest, Cameron, will be 15 in January and he just started high-school. My hobbies mostly include writing and reading, but I also enjoy camping at our lot, taking walks with my dogs, trying new kinds of tea, and shopping on the internet.
Hi Aime! I'm here from the Stringing Words forum. Saw that you joined and wanted to say "howdy!" The forum can take a bit of getting used to, but please feel free to dive in. I suggest starting a personal thread and/or joining in on some goal tracking, including our NaNoWriMo thread. By the way, I see that you are kicking butt at NaNoWriMo - congratulations!
